Buying a container

What sizes of shipping container do you supply?

We supply 10ft, 20ft and 40ft containers as standard. Bespoke sizes, cut-down units and multi-container configurations are available on request if a standard size doesn't suit your site.

What is the difference between new, used and refurbished containers?

New (often called one-trip) containers are built to standard shipping specification and typically used once. Used containers are cargo worthy and structurally sound but show cosmetic signs of previous shipping use, and represent excellent value. Refurbished units are used containers that have been cleaned, prepared and finished ready for use — often repainted with new seals and hardware.

Are used containers wind and watertight?

Yes. The used containers we supply are cargo worthy, meaning they are structurally sound and wind and watertight. If you need a specific standard or appearance, tell us when requesting a quote and we'll advise on the right grade.

How do I get a price?

Complete the quote form on this page or the Request a Quote page. Tell us the size, condition, intended use, any modifications and your delivery postcode, and we'll come back to you with pricing and availability.

Delivery & positioning

Do you deliver across the UK?

Yes. We provide UK-wide delivery and can position the container on your site. Delivery is quoted based on your location, access and the handling equipment required.

What access do I need for delivery?

Containers are delivered on a lorry fitted with a hiab crane or a tilt-and-slide trailer, so reasonable access for a large vehicle is needed. Let us know about narrow lanes, low branches, overhead cables, parked cars or soft ground when you request a quote — it helps us plan the right approach and avoid problems on the day.

Do I need to prepare the ground?

Yes — containers need to sit on a firm, level base. This is usually compacted hardstanding, concrete pads or sleepers. If the ground is uneven or soft, the container can twist or settle. We're happy to advise on what's suitable for your site before delivery.

Where should the doors face?

Think about how you'll access the unit day to day, and how it will be lifted off the vehicle. Tell us your preferred orientation and we'll position it that way where the site allows.

Conversions, cladding & modular

Can you convert a container into an office, workshop or garden room?

Yes — conversions are a core part of what we do. We can fit insulation, internal lining, electrics, plumbing, windows, personnel doors, French doors, roller shutters and partitions, and clad the exterior inside or out.

Timber or composite cladding — which should I choose?

Timber cladding gives a warmer, more natural look and suits garden and residential settings. Composite cladding is low maintenance and hardwearing, which often suits exposed or commercial sites. We can advise based on where the unit is going.

Can you join containers together to make a bigger building?

Yes. Containers can be joined side by side or end to end to create larger floorplates, divided into separate rooms, and stacked where space is limited. Tell us the space and layout you need and we'll work through the options.

Do I need planning permission?

Requirements vary depending on your location, the size of the unit and how it will be used. We're happy to talk through what other customers typically do, but you should confirm the position with your local planning authority before ordering. We do not provide planning advice.

Ordering

How long does delivery take?

Timing depends on whether the container is in stock, whether a conversion or cladding package is involved, and the delivery location. We'll give you an estimated lead time with your quotation and keep you updated.

Can I collect the container myself?

In some cases, yes — but you'll need suitable lifting equipment and a vehicle, as containers must be lifted rather than dragged. Let us know if collection is something you're considering and we'll discuss it.

What payment terms do you offer?

Payment terms are confirmed with your quotation. Talk to us about the project and we'll set out clearly what's required and when.
